METAL
QUALITY. SERVICE. PREFORMANCE
After 59 Years of Growth, We’re Still Family Owned and Quality Focused
When McElroy Metal was founded in 1963, it was built on three key traits: quality, service and performance. While we’ve certainly grown over the last 59 years, those traits are still the cornerstone of our business philosophy today.
As a best-in-class metal roofing manufacturer with a complementary selection of metal wall panels and substructural components, we’re here to meet any commercial, industrial, or residential need. With locations across the United States, our goal is to make your dream metal roof or wall a reality—no matter your location, project, or style preferences.
WHY
CHOOSE METAL?
Metal roofing offers an attractive alternative to other commonly used materials. While other options may have lower upfront costs, they often have much shorter life expectancy and require frequent maintenance. Asphalt shingles, for instance, are vulnerable to shrinking, eroding, and cracking, especially in regions of the country where they’re exposed to extreme weather conditions.
Capable of lasting 60 or more years with minimal maintenance or repairs, metal roofing can withstand wind gusts of up to 140 miles per hour and will not corrode or crack due to seasonal weather. A metal roof also provides both fire resistance and energy efficiency, reducing cooling costs by 10-25%.
STANDING SEEM
& CONCEALED FASTNER WALL SYSTEMS
Standing seam roof systems consist of a series of panels that are connected by raised seams (or vertical legs) above the flat surface. Rather than sitting flush against the roof deck, the seams rise between 1 to 3 inches above the surface and allow the panels to snap together or mechanically interlock without exposed, or visible, fasteners. In addition to providing a sleek, modern look, standing seam systems allow panels to expand and contract with changing temperatures, helping them to last longer and cause less wear and tear on the roof deck.
Concealed fastener wall panels are installed with clips and/or fasteners that are placed beneath the wall panels, so they are hidden from view.
RECOVER
& RETROFIT SYSTEMS
For commercial property owners confronted with aging or deteriorating roofs, a complete tear-off and replacement may not be an economical or viable long-term solution. This is especially true for roofs with 1/4:12 slope or greater with conventional membranes that require ongoing maintenance due to moisture damage and UV degradation. Owners of 30-40 year old pre-engineered buildings also benefit greatly from a new roof that installs directly over existing metal panels. Fortunately, recover and retrofit systems like metal-over-metal or metal-over-shingles can provide the benefits of a standing seam metal roof without the hassle of replacing the roof entirely. Our systems can be adapted to the existing roof’s structural support system to provide long-term life expectancy and reduced life-cycle costs while also enhancing the property’s curb appeal.
CURVED
ROOFING SYSTEMS
Whether used as a design accent or for an entire roof, curved radius roofing systems are an attractive choice for many commercial projects. Often fabricated on the job site, curved roofing is a standing seam system that provides an ideal solution for curved roofs, arched canopies, and walkway covers. Since the panels are curved on the jobsite, they have a lower landed transportation cost and provide a better opportunity for an exact fit.
EXPOSED FASTNER
PANEL OPTIONS
Exposed fastened metal roof and wall panels represent the most economical option for commercial projects. These systems consist of overlapping panels that are fastened directly to the roof deck or wall framing through the face of the metal. They are called “exposed” because the fastener head remains visible once installed. Exposed fastener panels are typically wider than standing seam panels, meaning that fewer panels (and less labor) will be needed to cover the roof or standing wall area.
METAL SHINGLES
& SIMULATED TILE
SOFFIT. FASCIA.
& CANOPY SYSTEM OPTIONS
Before installing metal roof and wall panels, it’s recommended to use the same material for a commercial project’s soffit, fascia, and canopy needs. These pre-formed panels are designed for both vertical and horizontal applications and feature a variety of pan conditions. Whether being used for roof eaves, porch ceilings, or canopy installations, metal paneling can provide an elegant finishing touch to any commercial project.
